Hello.
Welcome to my house and website. My name is John Blair, AKA Big John. Give
me a second to tell you a little about myself and how I got to this point of
asking you for your business. I grew up in East Texas. From an early age I
fished and hunted with my Father and Uncles. I don’t hunt anymore because my
legs don’t work as well as they used too. (Too much football, too much
weight, for too many years.) My uncle taught me the basics of rod building
and lure making at an early age. I am not a fishing snob. If we can catch
catfish, crappie, steelhead, salmon, sand trout, etc., it’s all great. I
remember my uncle letting me make a casting rod from dried bamboo and old
stripped guides (I promise that my rod components are much better now) I
have made rods and repaired reels for me and my friends and myself for
years. I am a retired nurse and now in a wheel chair for a good part of the
day. I decided to share my knowledge and passion of rod making with future
friends (my customers). I now have a one man custom rod shop and reel
repair business. I also run a small internet retail business. I am
continually expanding and exploring newer techniques in rod building. I
have an addiction for rod making. Thanks for visiting. I hope you can
